The HC Standard Application suite
HC Standard (HCS) is an enterprise healthcare application suite designed to provide real time situational awareness of critical healthcare assets. HCS provides healthcare providers, emergency operations planners and emergency service personnel with near real time information, superior decision support tools and critical dashboard elements on daily runs, emergency situations and mass casualty incidents. HCS can be integrated with popular electronic patient care reporting and incident management systems, making it more easily accepted and utilized by key stakeholders who must be able to access all of their critical information from one location.
HC Standard was built using the entire Microsoft Stack including a highly scalable Microsoft SQL Server database, .NET core programming middle tier and services layers, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) mobile field application frameworks, and a Silverlight front end dashboard application for a rich user viewing experience.
HC Standard stands apart from other critical resource tracking dashboard applications because of its administration interface which literally modifies the database structure in real time, allowing patient care professionals with average computing skills to quickly and easily add and edit data elements within a few strokes or mouse clicks. HCS provides visibility of resources like beds, blood, medications and medical equipment for those working in hospitals or public health agencies. GER's Windows® mobile Patient Triage and Tracking application for first responders managing daily or emergency incident scenarios will soon be available on iOS and Android devices.
HC Standard was designed from the ground up to solve the traditional stovepipes or “silos of excellence” that have existed for some time in the healthcare system. HCS allows for a common operating picture of real time assets from staff to equipment to facilities by integrating with the many different systems and organizations that all play a role in any properly coordinated response. From automatic vehicle location (AVL) systems in an ambulance to integration with multiple computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and 911 centers, HC Standard can compile, package and display the right information to the right people in an easy to use and visualize format. HC Standard can help solve the medical surge capacity problems that exist in the major metropolitan areas throughout the United States today.
Accurate healthcare information sharing
When medical emergencies arise, effective decisions depend upon leaders understanding the conditions, quantities and locations of their critical response resources. Much of the time, even within the walls of a single medical treatment facility, existing systems and processes make it difficult for decision-makers to aggregate this information. Too much time is spent gathering information. Delays effect critical life-saving decisions. A current common operating picture is essential.
When large numbers of people require immediate medical attention, care is often provided by several different organizations, from hospitals to public health agencies emergency medical services units at an incident scene. Multiple entities in multiple locations compound the communication problems. In certain regions, like the National Capital Region surrounding Washington, DC, it is common for the situation to be even further complicated by the fact that a response involves EMS organizations from multiple jurisdictions including the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Maryland. Customers in the National Capital Region rely on HC Standard® to Save Time and Save Lives!
